Fresh off of a weekend at Summer Camp Music Festival, Aqueous took the stage in Illinois again at Taste of Randolph, Chicago’s largest street festival.
Busting out fresh songs and a classic repitoire of funky groove rock, Aqueous dazzled a packed crowd at the East Stage on Saturday’s leg of the festival.
A memorable cover of Vampire Weekend’s A-Punk, that was previously played at Summer Camp, brought in additional passersby as the band played crowd favorites Weight of the Word and Second Sight. The 4-piece group also played a crowd pleaser, Origami, which had not been played for a Chicago crowd in six Aqueous visits to the city.

The electric presence around the stage struck a chord with local fans who seldom see the band, but was delighted to hear guitar/vocal lead, Mike Gatzner, say before the band’s departure, “See you all in the fall”.
