As the city of Chicago launches into its full “summertime chi” concert schedule, so does Chicago-bred quartet, Mungion. While many may describe this 4-piece as simply a jam band, fans and listeners alike believe that Mungion transcends genre classification, making their sound truly indescribable and all encompassing.
Amidst a busy start to their summer festival season schedule, the band shifts their focus toward a cannot-miss Dead and Company after party set to take place at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall on June 14th – a live performance guaranteed to keep your bodies moving deep into the night.
“We’re all really excited to play in our home city of Chicago for the Dead and Co. after party, we have a lot of tricks up our sleeves for this one and will be having our good friend and banjo extraordinaire Pete Smith up for some tunes,” (Justin Reckamp, guitar/vocals).
Returning home fresh off of energetic sets at high-profiled music festivals such as Domefest and Summer Camp, the guys are more than ready to showcase their talents to new ears and their dedicated hometown following, also known as the “Mung Force”. An extended late night set should allow the band an opportunity to be as creative and patient as they’d like for their music to build and come alive on stage as they put their extraordinary musical compositions and improvisational prowess on display.
“We always have such a great time playing after parties because everyone is ready to keep the party going and that’s what we’re all about! The last time we played in Chicago was New Years Eve so we are itching to throw it down with everyone!” (Reckamp).
Check them out Friday, June 14th following night 1 of Dead and Company at Wrigley Field. Lincoln Hall is a short ride on the CTA Red Line southbound from Addison to Fullerton, or a 10 min Uber/Lyft/Taxi..
